assignment 1-2

Assignment 1-2 Popular Culture Blog

What is pop culture, simply put, events, people, and fads and trends that each and everyone one of us is caught up in. It could be an event such as a political election. We all know how the election of 2008 took the full attention of the country. That election showed more of our culture than it did of our political standing.  The people of the 2008 election became a major part of our culture. Even though we as people try not to admit that we voted based upon our culture, a large amount of Americans will say they voted based upon culture. As we see fads and trends of the 21st century evolving, we need to look no farther than the cell phones we use. In such a short period, we have required the cell phone industry to keep up with our culture demands of change to our own culture. We look at cell phones as a symbol status, do you have an I-phone, if not you are not in with the popular group of students at school.
In my business world, we must always be aware of the most popular item that is wanted in the world of fast pitch softball. While being involved in sales requires one to stay on top of the hot items, or the fads that occur in sports. Such as, the items that Jenny Finch would use. Even though the items she used really wasn’t better than an item that didn’t have her name on it, that is the item that ever girl wants. Therefore, to make sure we stay with the hot items or the trends for say, we must watch what these icons in sports are using, or be left with a lot of inventory that will not sale.
I really believe that the I-phone is a pop culture artifact. Everyone has a cell phone these days and the elite of the phones seems or is presented as so, is the I-phone. A person or groups seems to be either part of the elite group if they have the I-phone, if not they afre looked upon as a lower inferior culture, and not that of the elite culture.
